Helps eliminate diseases that can be carried by the pesticides

Sometimes it can contaminate food which is then consumed and can lead to cancer and other health effects

Pesticides can reach surface water through run-off from treated plants and soil. the pest-control is used on the pesticides which also goes into the water.

-Mass production of insect pests. -They are sterilized with gamma radiation emitted by radioisotopes. -Males are let out to mate with the non-sterilized female insects. -The insects do not give offspring which leads to a decrease in the population.

What is the most responsible way to use this (or related) energy technology?

The most responsible way to use this energy is by letting the male sterilized insects out at the same time over a large area. This way more area is covered and the harmful insects are eliminated while there are still beneficial insects.
