Life and dignity of the human person connects to human trafficking because every person is made through the image of God which means that every life matters and all people are worthy of others respect. So life and dignity of the human person relates to topic of trafficking because it goes against Jesus's example of treating people with the respect they deserve and caring for all human life.

Scripture passage

Psalm 35:10 ESV All my bones shall say, “O Lord, who is like you, delivering the poor from him who is too strong for him, the poor and needy from him who robs him?” - This Scripture Passage relates human trafficking because God says The poor from him is too strong for him means the people that have more should treat the poor as if they were just as wealthy as him.

Where is an affected area

Human trafficking occurs in New York, there were 332 trafficking cases reported in 2016. There were 180 human trafficking reports in the first 6 months of the year.

When

In 2017 human trafficking in New York was at its highest point since 2009. Then in 2018 It was higher than 2015. And in 2019 it dropped but didn't drop below what it was like in 2012.

Why

The cause of why human trafficking is a thing include economic reasons, social and political factors. Poverty alone does not necessarily create Unprotected women and children to shop again but when added with other factors they can lead to a higher chance for being trafficked.

What is it

Human trafficking the involving use of force fraud or some type of Labor or commercial sex act. Traffickers use Force, fraud or lure their victims and force them into labour or sexual exploitation.

Who does it affect

People who are affected by human trafficking are mostly women and children that are taken from their normal lives and told to provide labour or sexual services.

Cultural Connection

The organization that i found that is advocating for the Social Justice Issue The Global Alliance Against Trafficking in Women (GAATW). They are joined with 80 non-governmental organizations from around the world. That includes Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin American, the Caribbean and North America. They work to the goal of reducing conditions where in slavery-like situations and practices exist. You can get involved by way of volunteering or applying for one of the Alliance's internships.
