Type in the name of the character you are going to analyze.
In "Thank you ma'am", Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones can be categorized as both the antagonist, or the protagonist. On one hand, Mrs. Luella Bates is the one causing problems/inconvenience for Robert, making her the antagonist. But, Mrs. Luella Bates is not evil- contrarily, she is very kind and the good person in the story, making Robert the antagonist who tried to steal her purse and cause problems for her.
