Below are the list of things i must do to ensure I'm on the right track for the upcoming interview.

Research about the company

r

First and foremost thing to do. It's essential to have knowledge about the company as they might ask to see if I have any knowledge about their company.

Research about the job offered

r

It's important to know what the job offers and what the recruiters are looking for and what I'm expected to do while doing the job.

make a note of all employability skills

r

A list of all employability skills i have such asgood communication, decision making, problem solving, analytical skills etc.

List all skills gained from the course

r

A list of all the skills i gained after joining the HND course should be made. For example, good IT skills, good report writing skills, interpersonal skills etc.

Prepare questions to ask the interviewers

r

Prepare a couple of questions for the interviewer to get them thinking I'm confident and interested in joining their company.

On the day

Have breakfast

r

It's very important to have a good breakfast on the day of interview. This will enable me to think properly and look sharp and energetic.

Have shower

r

Always important to look fresh and good on interview. It's also a fee good factor.

Wear smart clothes

r

Very important to dress smart and look professional on the day of interview. It will give the interviewers a good impression.

Have all the documents ready

r

this is a must. All required documents such as CV, application form should be put nicely in a folder for the interviewers to see if they demand it.

Give more time than usual to get to the venue

r

Leave the house earlier then normal in-case anything bad happens on the way, this will give me some extra time to get to the venue on time.

Visualise the interview

r

Visualising the whole process in head helps boost confidence and make a person better. This will make me ready to face the interviewers with a positive approach.

Check weather forecast

It's important to check the weather and if it's an issue in order to go to the venue. If yes, then the interviewers should be informed immediately.

Check train timetables

r

Trains often get detailed or cancelled. So it's important to keep that in mind and check the timetables.

Research current affairs and trends

r

Always important to keep the day to day affairs and trends of the business world. Interviewers often ask to see if the interviewee is up to date with the news or not.

Prepare questions that interviewers might ask

r

Couple of question can be written down in a piece paper. This will show the interviewers that the interviewee has intent.

Rehearse

r

Always important to rehearse how I'm going to answer the question interviewers are going to ask me. This will make me feel more confident and comfortable.

Good night sleep

r

A good night sleep is a must. This will keep my mind and body fresh and I'll be at my very best during the interview. A good night sleep plays a big part in a successful interview.

Greet the interviewers

Say hello to the interviewers, shake hands and ask how they are. This will give them a good impression about me.

Be positive

r

Being positive in the interview will attract the recruiters to hire me. I will feel better and confident while answering the questions.

Be fluent while answering

r

It's important to be fluent while speaking. Everyone gets nervous. But the nervousness can be easily hidden by being fluent.

Keep good eye contact

r

Keeping good eye contact is important because interviewers then wont lose interest and the conversation would then be lively.

Smile and be positive

r

Smiling and being positive will give them the impression that I'm really into that job and I'm confident and excited and want to be a part of the company.

Ask questions at the end

r

Questions like 'can you please tell me a bit more about the job; and 'so how you finding your job here'. These questions will give them a good impression and make them realise I'm an active person.
