Every plant in an ecosystem adds to the beauty of the world around them. It is the job of the teacher to meet the needs of each organism and nurture each student.
Anglo Conformity
This Idea can be harmful as some people feel that they need to change who they are in order to fit in. The feel they cant speak their own language in school because it is frowned upon.
The ida that is portrayed in a lot of school systems today, that english is the culture and everyone should conform to the current culture.

Melting pot
Refers to how education is like a melting pot. Everything is thrown in in hopes that the flavor of each ingredient will reach every student. This idea is not always beneficial because students are not going to taste everything, some will get more or less than others.

There are still some stereotypes that I believe in. I need to realize that not all stereotypes are true regardless of how often one sees them.

I want to be able to teach topics that are meaningful and of worth to my students. I am motivated by feeling like I make a difference individual students lives

The role of school in society is to prepare students for their future careers and education.
How can I prepare my students to be future doctors, teacher, lawyers, and buisiness men?
I can challenge them and hold high expectations for their learning.

Jesus Christ is the master teacher as well as the Holy Ghost. They bear truth of all things and help me as a teacher see my students as children of God.
I learn best when I am close to the spirit and the savior.
I can stay close to the spirit by... 1. reading my scriptures 2. Saying fervent prayers 3. Serving others and my future students
What is the role of learning and teaching in the home?
Learning in the home is just as important as learning in school.
As a future classroom teacher, I plan to do this by helping those students who may not have the best home life.
1. Give food to students who are hungry 2. Provide academic assistance for those struggling 3. Show love to my students so they know that they have someone who has their back.
In home and in school, children should learn principles of love and respect. They should learn to act as the savior would. Even though in school you can't talk about religion, you can talk about how people should be treated.
What is my work as learner and teacher?
My work as a teacher is to be a learner.

I can do this be continuing my education and reading and learning from good books. I as a teacher need to recognize that my students teach me as well.

There needs to be a push for society to have a more "well-rounded" education and educational experiences.

Monocultural education is sadly prevelent in many U.S. public schools.

How can we combat this?
Being accepting of cultural differences, allow students to speak their native language.
Teaching about all forms of history and not just the parts where "we are the good guys."
How do I view and magnify those I teach?
Should view those I teach as unique and valuable
I will do this by being an example of christlike love through my actions and daily interactions with my students
