Shrek loved Fiona before even seeing her true form and looks.

But both aren't superficial and they still fall in love.

Fiona develops love for Shrek while he is talking about himself being hideous.

Shrek is an ogre and Fiona is a human.

In the movie Shrek, both main characters are Fiona and Shrek.

In Shrek, Andrew Adamson emphasizes that love and relationships are not about superficiality, it's about personality.

This is true because Fiona falls in love with Shrek, not because of how he looks but because of how he acts throughout the movie and how he lives. We see Fiona fall in love with Shrek more and more during the movie, just because they spend time together and she realizes she loves him for his personality.

In the movie Shrek, they state that love is more Than looks. Shrek said, “People take one look at me and go, Ahhh! Help! Run! A big, stupid, ugly ogre. They judge me before they even know me.”

Plot Observations

The movie breaks the typical fairy-tale story. Cause In most fairy tales, a princess needs a prince to save them or cure them. But in Shrek, Fiona doesn’t need a prince, she needs someone who accepts her for who she is. The movie shows that love doesn’t always need a prince charming.
