Criticism
As can be seen, Audio Lingual Method's goals are not sufficient for effective language learning as for it is focused on only speaking and listening skills. Reading and writing skills can also be improved during learning process. Another essential issue is that there should be cognitive learning, repeating is not enough and it can be boring for students. Language laboratories are not normal for learning language , there should be interaction during learning process.On the other hand, ALM may be useful for learners who want to learn language only to speak and listen, they may save their time. Real dialogues may be effective and interesting for learners.
