Classifying

Putting things together that are similar

Predicting

Predicting what is to come in the learning process

Examples: Read the title in a book chapter and prdict what the contents will be.

For example: Make students learn alist of animal names and then make them calssify them on species.

Inducing

Example: read a conversation and learn the present perfect through it.

Using the surrounding context to guess the meaing of unkown words

Picking out the most important points in summary form

Selective listening

Listening to key information without trying to understsand every word

Example: listening to a conversation and figure out the topic

Skimming

Reading quickly to get the general idea of a text

Example: read something and decide wther ts a newspaper or an article
