Fresh Water

1. What type of a resource is it

This is a renewable resources

3. How is the resource
commonly used

Bathing, cleaning, drinking, dishwasher and tap water.

5. What is the environmental impact of
extracting/harvesting this resource

The environmental impacts that fresh water has is floods and destroys homes

2. When and Where (in Canada) was
the resource developed?

The aboriginals were the first to use the water
in Canada. They first started using freshwater from Hudson Bay. They lived by rivers, and rivers are freshwater. Now we (in Ontario) use the Great Lakes (Lake Ontario, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Superior and Lake Erie) for our homes and industrial purposes.

4. How is the resource extracted or harvested?

6. What economic impact (value) does the resource have on Canada

The economic impact that freshwater has on Canada is that we have a lot of freshwater, and we trade with countries who don't have. Only 3% of the world's water is freshwater, and Canada withholds a lot of it. Freshwater and water bottle companies would benefit from the money they would gain. Canada would have a high demand for clean water from countries in need. Also in freshwater lakes and rivers, there are many edible fish living, so a lot of fishermen go fish over there. They can sell the fish and make money as a lot of people already do.
