What is perimeter?
Perimeter is the distance or length around any shape or object
Measuring Perimeter: If you have an object and there are given lenghths around all sides than you can simply add up all number to find the total lengh around the ouside of the object.

Labeling Units
Perimeter: labeled with the units in which you are measuing in. Example: meters, inches, centimeters
Area: Your answer must be in units squared
Volume: Since you are finding the inside of a 3D object your answer must be cubed
Surface Area: same as area. Answer must be in units squared

1) WHY? Why do we measure?
2) WHERE? Our why helps us determine the where. Where are you measuring? Area, perimeter, volume, etc.
3) WHAT? What tool will you use?
4) hoW? How will you measure? (Repeating a unit with no gaps or overlaps). See how many units instead of seeing where you stop measuring.
