Unit 1
What is Anatomy & Physiology?

Topic 1.0 What is Anatomy and Physiology

Should Knows

Define

Anatomy, Physiology, Homeostasis,
Illness, Positive Feedback Loop, Negative
Feedback Loop

Anatomy = structure

Illness =disease or unhealthy condition of the body.

positive feedback loop= amplify or changes the state away from balance

Physiology= how the body works

Homeostasis=State of balance

Negative feedback loop=returns body back to balance when it was disrupted.

Should Do's

1. Contrast anatomy and physiology.
2. Explain the difference between a positive and negative feedback loop and provide an example of each.
3. Explain why illnesses occur.

1. Physiology is how ht body works and anatomy is the structure.

2. Positive feed backs amplify changes had negative dampen changes. One example of positive feed back is a fruit ripening. an example of negative feed back is blood glucose levels.

Illnesses occur because virus or bacteria enter your body and multiply.
