Personal Goal Setting by Grace Gong

Creating personal goals involves identifying what is fundamentally important to you and aligning your actions with these values. Exercise options abound, whether it's running outside, doing laps around the block, biking, or engaging in home workouts like pushups and stair running.

Pros and cons for each alternative. Choose the one that best suits you.

In my house
Pros: Save money, No need to be afraid of the weather when going to a fitness centre than taking bus home, ability to save time by transitioning faster VS. take the bus, wait than walk home.                                                                                  Cons: Not as much space, less variety in equipment ,more probability for danger since there is less space, no motivation since the environment has not changed.
Running around my street
Pros: Save money, save time, since I don't need to navigate or take the bus directly from school to go to a fitness centre or even just traverse from part of the school to the fitness room. Streets are safe since there are people living in houses                                                                                 Cons: People driving cars by their driveway to go somewhere might not see me running and may pose a safety threat if it is dark or even I am running too fast, The street is pretty noisy- kids playing ball and other walkers or seniors might be sharing my path, making it less spacious for me to run through. Overall, this is my best option.

How decision will be put into action

Goal + Goal Incentive
Allowing myself to eat an occasional snack that is yummy but unhealthy after working out for a long time. Or giving myself a longer break to recover and just spend some time for myself.
Workout schedule
Scheduling will allow myself to put time at a more valuable perspective- making room for other things, and giving me reason to accomplish what is already on my plate.

Re-examine plan- rethinking goals and adjust plan

No talk- Just do!
Spend more time prioritizing things - no more scheduling, more action!
Better Incentive
Stop using unhealthy behaviour or snacks as an incentive- instead, reward myself with the fact that I am healthier and happier after working out.

Your Alternatives? Consider your values and whats important to you

Running outside (Save Money, No need to go to a facility)
Doing laps around the street block or trails, biking
Exercising in home, save time
Doing skipping ropes outside my home parking lot
Running up and down the stairs at school
Pushups and work routines on my mat in my basement

Info needed to make decision

How will I allow myself to continue regardless of the levels of difficulty when I actually approach the activity?
What pushes me mentally?
How will I balance school and clubs with working out?
What times I will be able to negotiate with my different team coaches as well as what studying needs to be done ahead of time.
Workout options that are best for me
What Centers offer the most convenience in regards to financial, environmental and timing factors? Is it worth it to pay ore for a centre that I will like more, or is the basic centre all I need to begin with?

Goal before Grad

Live a Healthier Lifestyle
Cutting out Toxic Relationships

Cutting Toxicity will allow me to stop second guessing my self value.

Avoiding people who are disruptive, or look for drama. Trying to be neutral or positive instead of passive aggressive in my relationships- don't just let it happen! Use your voice to address the issue head on and use I statements.

Healthy Attitude

Healthy Mind means practising gratitude towards life and others, Practising Yoga and Meditation, Thinking 24 hours before yelling, shouting or responding to a situation that makes me angry, saying "Yes, I can do it" and repeating reinforcing quotes in to myself when I do things that challenge myself. Finding positive role models and being inspired by their footsteps, ex., Ghandi and Penny Oleksiak.
