The computer system
Operations
A computer is a complex device consisting of* many
different components. For its functioning it can be divided into four groups:
1.Take in data
2.Process data according to the instructions
3.Show results of the processing
4.Store the results in its memory
Functioning
All the pieces are interlinked* through a communication network called "bus" where the centre is the motherboard that is controlled by CPU.
The CPU is the most important element of a computer's hardware,it processes the data and in the same time controls the operation of all the other pieces of hardware
The faster the CPU works, the more powerful the computer is*. The speed of CPU is called "clock speed" measured in hertz, where each cycle represents one operation.
Hardware groups
There are four important groups that we can distinguish in a computer system:
1 Input. The equipment needed to feed data* into the computer
2 Processing. The equipment that, with the help of CPU* ,follows the instruction and transform the data in a result
3 Output. The equipment which displays the results of the computer's work (Like printer or screen)
4 Storing. After processing, this part functions as a memory which keep* data for the future use
