Theres something in the water

Density Dependent factors

The landfill

Landfills are density dependent factors because the garbage accumulates as the density of the community rises. As the landfill rises, so do different diseases along with it because of the toxins.

Disease

There had been an increased probability of cancer due to mass exposure to landfills contaminants in the water.

Density Independent factors

The pump mill

The pump mill was the cause of many fish deaths because of the toxins released into the water. The toxins had also killed tons of wild life.

Landfill fire impact

The impacts of the burning landfills on the population, animals and other organisms is density independent. No matter the population size or growth, the damage will be done regardless along the entire area the fumes will hit.

Environmental racisms affects on populations

Environmental racism has affected the population in many ways. One example of environmental racism is caused by the availability of housing and discrimination against minority communities. Police and housing discrimination against minorities causes a big chunk of mortalities in the minority communities.

A more specific example of environmental racism lies within Sarina, Ontario where a Anishnabe community live, holding 40% of Canada's chemical industries. Due to this, the harmful chemicals would leak and the pollution had caused burning for peoples noses, throats and eyes.

Lastly, in Shelburn, Nova scotia, many black families had been affected by fires on landfills. The government had decided to create a landfill right beside them and set them on fire. Many black families were affected and the fumes caused multiple different health concerns.
