Assessment

test/assignment question should include names/experiences/images from diverse cultures, representative of your school

Inclusive & culturally responsive teaching

bring in different cultures as much as possible, throughout your curricular lessons (ie: in gr. 11 Biology, we complete a lesson on Biodiversity. I use this as an opportunity to have the students come up to the front and put a sticker on a world map, to show where they are from. We see how "biodiverse" our class is. Students really like this because it echos how biodiverse our school population is.

also tests/quizzes/assignments should be translated into a student's first language if they are an ESL Level 1 or 2 student ( using Google Translate or Google Read & Write)

Strengthening inclusive and culturally responsive and relevant teaching, curriculum, assessment and resources Years 1 and 2 (2017–18 to 2018–19)
