A union is a group of workers who join together to protect their rights and interests. Sometimes they have to negotiate with their bosses for what they want.

Two canadian mining executives were convicted of involuntary manslaughter ... this illustrates accountability because they were held responsible for their actions ( not making the mines safe enough) by Canadian Law. This is also Transparency because the news media (cbc news) made it so citizens can see what happened.

Media Literacy (being able to tell information that is useful and true to base a decision on) is important in order to be an informed citizen in a democracy. Media Literacy is important for the Accountability and Transparency democratic principle because it allows for people to understand the messages being given to them. With so many information sources available today, media literacy can help people in spotting trustworthy sources.

Iranian women jailed for not wearing hijab and has died in her cell. People say she died due to the police and others say she died from a heart attack and it was a coincidence.

Opposition parties are responsible for keeping the government accountable by asking questions in the house of commons in question period. The MoC opened today after summer break with a new opposition leader - Pierre Poilievre.

The right to strike is protected by the Constitution.  The Notwithstanding allows the government to go above the Constitution.  This means they are going above the law- this goes against the Rule Of Law Democratic Principle.Education workers (EAs) are barely making a living wage and they do a very difficult and important job…. They are barely above the poverty level.
