9/11 is one of the most important events in recent history. The United States is the most powerful nation on the planet and this event changed so much about their culture, politics, and security, affecting the rest of the world as well.

Personal
The day I turned 16 I got my driver's licence. This was historically significant in my life because it allows me to drive, which is one of the most important skills someone can have in the 21st century.

Cause and Consequence

Personal
There have been times where I have forgotten to take the garbage out or clean out the kitty litter, leading to a foul stench. every action I do is a cause but this one would have negative impacts on me and my family.

Historical
The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand in 1914 resulted in 20 million deaths in WW1 and could be connected as contributor to the start of WW2.

Primary Sources

Personal
Many of us played Broken Telephone as kids. This game demonstrates how information can be skewed when passed through multiple sources. This is why primary sources are so important when trying to find the truth.

Historical
When learning/teaching history, the use of primary sources is important because information could be skewed or glossed over when from secondary sources. People will write about these events and people based on their personal feelings, leading to misinformation or construed views.

Historical Perspective

Historical
Every side thinks their the good guy in war. During WW1, Germany believed that they were in the right, but since we are on the other side, we believe that they were wrong.

Personal
When I go to competitions, I either lose or win. When I win I feel like I'm on top of the world, but when I lose I am miserable. Someone always wins or loses so every perspective is different at each competition.

Continuity and Change

The invention of gunpowder changed the world forever. it lead to massive developments in warfare and how conflicts were/are settled.

Personal
Kinder garden was the start of my schooling, it was the first time I went to school every day. before then I wouldn't have to be anywhere that my parents didn't bring me, I was a change that I am still affected by today.

Ethical Dimensions

Personal
I stole $5 from my sister when I was 7. I wouldn't do it now but I would also not pay my sister $5 in return today.

Historical
Slavery was very common in the United States until it was outlawed. Does the United States government or its citizens owe reparation's to the descendants of the slaves.
