Giving an additional voice/perspective/ to the teacher to develop understanding of the student and his/her strengths/challenges to suggest appropriate teaching strategies; A co-teacher in many ways.

Providing specialist input to the teacher on how students are learning

can suggest appropriate assistive technologies and devices for the teacher to integrate into T&L

Allowing students to express concerns to someone they relate with.

supports Parents by

meeting/communicating with parents about their child's education

supports the student by

Making additional observations on student learning

providing another voice for students to relate with

getting to know students in order to provide different strategies for students

Listening to what students say as teacher lectures/teaches

encouraging student to advocate for own needs

is in contact with other Resource Teachers

Liaises with Educational Specialist Professionals

attends ongoing PD in various aspects of Special Education T&L resources

is in active contact with Administration to advocate for students' individual needs within the school
