Employability Skills

In both academic and extracurricular settings, developing essential skills such as time management, organization, and stress management is crucial. Balancing schoolwork with other activities like sports teaches the importance of managing time effectively by utilizing spare moments for completing assignments.

Employability Skills

Employ-ability Skills

Honesty

Being honest is very important in getting employed because if you lie and people find out then you can be in big trouble. Therefore you will become unreliable to employers and co-workers and you won't have a good relationship with either.
I am honest because for me there is no reason to be dishonest. Even if i were scared to be honest about a mistake I made and will have consequences I'll be honest because I will either have a guilty subconscious and do it later anyway or I will admit to it because I know that it's the right thing to do. Also knowing this will make me more likely to be employed because employers won't want people who blame others for their faults or people who make it seem like it wasn't their fault when in reality it was and are scared to confess.

Community Involvement

Community involvement is important when being employed because if your not involved in your community this can mean that you don't have passion in your job. If your not willing to help out in the area you live and help the people in the area then this means you don't really care for your community and are not compassionate about your community. Why would you want help out at your job if this was the case.
I get involved in my community by helping my mom with special needs soccer in Brampton. I also plan on volunteering but at the moment cannot due to a busy schedule with soccer most of the time.

Personal Management

Examples of person management skills are things like time management, organization and stress management.
School and life in general has taught me about all of these things for example I learned about time management when I have homework from different courses and have to do them while I also have to go to soccer and wont get home until late. This makes me have to think of what time i can spare to finish my homework which usually consists of doing it in the car, at lunch or waking up early. I learned about organization from having to organize things like my binder, my room and my bag. Stress management is extremely important because sometimes at school things can get very stressful if you are behind and have to catch up or stressing over something already and you have to ignore it in order to work, this is the same as at a job.

Academic Skills

Academic skills are very important to get a job because they give you an edge over others at your job. For me as being a police officer I have an edge over other because I will most likely be more active then others and this will help me a lot for being a police. In a more academic aspect I enjoy reading which may also help me over others who do not because we will most likely have to read and review plenty of laws.

Learns From Mistakes

If you don't learn from your mistakes then there is no point in making mistakes at all. To make mistakes and not learn from them means you've done something wrong but still can't comprehend why and how it happened and how you can fix it next time so it does not occur again.
For example in soccer if I do something wrong like missing the net or getting the ball stolen from me I can learn from my mistakes by knowing next time to aim better for the net or when getting the ball taken away to try and release is faster. Instead of dwelling on what I did wrong and getting upset because of it or being scared to do it again.
I learn from my mistakes by doing something wrong accidentally and reflecting on the situation and thinking about what I could've done better.

Team Work Skills

Teamwork Skills are important because when your working at a job for example as a police officer you have to collaborate with other people and know how to progress and help each-other.
Teamwork can make a group of people much more successful than if they were on their own. It helps you see from others perspectives and help each-other generate ideas
I have experience in group work because of school as well as sports teams. For example in soccer we all have to work together as a team to be successful in the end and when we don't work together or we fight and get upset with each-other or blame each other on things we get angry and can't play as well because the chemistry isn't there with our team and our hearts are not in it.
When collaborating I enjoy generating ideas and bouncing ideas off of others.
I enjoy helping and supporting others aswell and commending them on their ideas and contribution to the group.

Respect and Positivity

Having respect as a police officer is important because others respect us and look up to us so we should all treat each-other with respect.
Having respect is a very important aspect when getting employed.
I believe I have respect because I care about others and respect them by listening, being positive and lifting people up when they're feeling down or discouraged.
For example, if you have all the right skills except for respect it can really hurt your image for the job because eventually people will figure out that your not a nice person to be around and arent helpful and positive.

Leadership

A police officer has to have good leadership skills because they are leaders in the community, figures that people look up to and trust with their opinions.
A person who isnt afraid to take the lead role in a situation
I believe I'm a good leader because I would take charge in situation where a leader may be needed. For example during soccer if no one is willing to go to the front of the line and lead the stretches I will.
