pneumonia/antibiotics

Pneumonia occurs in the lungs, the infection can happen in 1 half of the lungs and not the other half but typically is on both. the infection causes inflammation in your lungs and the air sacs can fill with fluids or pus.

Antibiotics attack the bacteria in the lungs or slowing suspending the bacteria so it stops growth, the antibiotics can improve the pneumonia in a few days The amount of time you will have to take them depends on how strong your immune system works.

emphysema/oxygen therapy

Emphysema occurs in the lungs because of tiny damages on the tip of the lungs, this causes shortness of breath and serve damage over time. This doesn't allow them to stretch meaning your body can't get as much oxygen it needs.

Oxygen therapy delivers oxygen to the lungs,It involves breathing oxygen in a pressurized chamber or tube. This allows your lungs to gather up to three times more oxygen than you would get by breathing oxygen at normal air pressure. The extra oxygen moves through your blood and to your organs and body tissues.

Cystic fibrosis/Lung transplant

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited disorder that causes severe damage to the lungs, digestive system and other organs in the body.Cystic fibrosis affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat and digestive juices. These fluids are normally thin and slippery. But in people with CF, causes the secretions to become sticky and thick. Instead of acting as lubricants.

A lung transplant becomes an option for people with CF when there is serve damage done. During the procedure the damaged lungs are removed and the new ones are put in, the new lungs will not have CF but other symptoms of CF can occur like diabetes, sinus infections and pancreas conditions. After the procedure you get anti rejections medication that will be needed for most likely the rest of your life to help prevent the body from rejection.

Stroke-medical ventilator

a stroke occurs in the brain, this happens when there is a blockage usually a clot in vessels anywhere if your body that can travel to your brain causing a stroke. when this happens your brain cannot get the oxygen it needs.

after a stroke if the body cannot breath for itself you'll be put onto a medical ventilator which will breathe for your body. The vent will bring oxygen directly to the lungs and if your body cannot exhale carbon dioxide the vent can be programmed to pump it out for your body

Asthma- Inhalers

Asthma is a disease that affects the airway and lungs, your airway always tend to be in a hypertensive state with redness and swelling.

Inhalers help open up the airway when you inhale off of them and relives breathlessness and wheezing, the affects of the inhaler typically only lasts a few hours.

Lung cancer- radiation therapy

Lung cancer begins in the lungs,it is a uncontrolled divison of abnormal cells that can turn into masses.the cancer cells grow with no order or control unlike normal cells. The cancer cells grow and destory healthy lung tissue around them

radiation therapy uses high powered energy beams to kill the cancer cells, during this process the patient lays on a table while a machine moves around them at a precise points on the body. For more advanced stages of the cancer this treatment is often used before or after surgery, or even just to reduce symptoms for patients if the cancer has spread to much.
