Main Character

Strong - In this short story he/she has been through a lot the main characters mother dissapeared one night this character only remember how she looks like as he was describing her in the short story and was lonely until this little one shows up,and was attacked and hurt."But they threw me down and each one in turn attacked me between the legs."

Lonely - The main character knows how it feels like to be alone because she/he have been alone on its own after its mother dissapeared and then this other character showed up "the little one"."Before the little one came to me, I thought I was the last of my type."

Never giving up - In the short story when he/she was going through a tough time it never gave up.Even when he/she got attacked and was weak nothing stopped it.

Sun tanned - The main character is described as living in a forest or a jungle "Sunrise. Milky light spills over the lip of the cave. When it falls on my face I rise." So in the jungle its mostly hot and sunny so the narrator must be tanned because he/she is out hunting for food and to survive.

After understanding the short story when the main character felt like it was alone and its type wasn't left and it felt like it was last type standing and felt so alone.I felt that same feeling some parts of my life when my best friends weren't really my best friends and it made me feel lonely and scared.Who should i trust and not to at school.But he/she got through it and i got through it and found my friend group who love me for me and are there for me.

In this short story the main character isn't specified name or gender.The main character is telling this short story "A Civilizing Influence" from its perspective what it has been through like its mother dissapeared when it was little and he/she felt alone like there was none of its type left until another character showed up and described as "the little one" in the short story.When the little one showed up it didn't feel alone because he/she had company then.One day it went out to the forest to collect roots and plants strange animals showed up "They made a great roaring when they saw me"and it got attacked between their legs.After the attack it was alone lying on the ground so it dragged itself to a cave near because it was weak.

The relationship the main character has with the other character is friendship and love because the main character was all alone before the other character which is described as "the little one" in the short story.The only relationship he/she has is special because they are almost like family.
