Small and large business can lure customers to buy items directly on social media. For example, Instagram has a new feature that allows the user to click on items on a photo and check out the prices.

Many people use social media as a source of news. Particularly wth Twitter, people find their information on there. Lots of news channels use these mediums to share condensed news to users.

Many social media outlets can pick up what a user likes to see on their feed/dashboard. For example, Instagram no longer shares posts in chronological order, but instead, shows content the user might like. This is based off the user's previous "liked" history.
