The English & Italian Sonnet
Overall Goals
Students should be able to differentiate between an English and Italian Sonnet
Students should be able to construct one of each style of poem
Students should be able to recite either style of poem correctly
Standards of learning to be Covered
12.1 a,b,c,e TSW make a 5 to 10 minute formal oral presentation
12. 5 b-d TSW read and critique a variety of poetry
12.7 a-g TSW develop expository and informational writings
Learning Objectives
Affective: Have the students bring in lyrics to their favorite songs(with restraints) as long as they can find the beat/rhythm
Cognitive:Start with Nursery rhymes for the student to clap out and find rhythm
Psychmotor: while the student is reading his/her sonnet the class should tap the correct rythm
12.7The student will develop expository and informational writings.
