The Great Gatsby; Chapter 3

The voice in the book shows us
that gatsby is a mysterious character
that is idolised by the guests at the
party.

A loud, extravagent party with many guests
the beginning is ambiguos as we dont know
anything about gatsby.
The opening shows us gatsbys house in its
full glory with the music and the peope.

When Gatsby first meets Nick. The
mystery of Gatsby is more
present at this point in the story and it
shocks the reader because it happens suddenenly. The readers are also intregued at this point because of what the guests at the party are suggesting about him and where he got his wealth and because they may finally find out more and something true about Gatsby from him.

The car crash in chapter three
forshadows the recklessness of the
drivers and that more acidents may occur in this
narrative .

The chapter ends with Nick evaluating his relationship with Jordan Baker. He thinks that she is a dishonest woman and is considering if he is in love with her. `

When Nick first meets Gatsby he doesn't intorduce himself.
We are unaware if this is because Gatsby believes that
Nick already knows that he is Gatsby or whether he just
wants to create a mysterious tone.

One dramatic climax is when everyone finds out that
someone has crashed a car. This creates a tense
atmosphere, showing what can happen when at
Gatsby's parties and how they aren't as innocent as
they seem.

This chapter has an exiting and busy atmosphere. The parties many guests add to the overcrowded impression. It has set a hyper tone, where people begin to engage with each other even though they probably won't remember them and the next time they attend another of Gatsby's parties the likely hood is that they will speak to another set off people who are completely different.
