The Suns Influence on Earth

Mesosphere

UV radiation absorbed by the molecules within this layer creates a significant increase in temperature, due to this process of absorption, temperature will increase with height

Within this layer, temperatures are able to rise due to its closer exposure to the sun

Troposhere

The innermost layer, holds a large portion of water vapor and is responsible for patterns of weather

When the troposphere is heated in certain regions more (This could be more occurring at the equator than the poles it can cause convection currents that push moisture and heat around the globe

Crycosphere

Considering that the cryosphere is water that is in a current frozen state when the sun hits the surface it can cool the plant

If a significant amount of snow or ice is melted it can alter the temperature of the air

Helps regulate air temperatures

Stratosphere

The second layer within earths atmosphere

Contains the main portion of ozone that blocks out the majority of the ultraviolet radiation from the sun.

Affects the amount of heat from the sun that is radiated back into space

The body of ozone can protect humans on earth from excess UV radiation which can lead to detrimental skin problems

Hydrosphere

The sun heats the surface of seas or rivers which creates evaporation from the water thus going into the atmosphere, condensing, and then falling back into the ground as precipitation providing water for bodies of water

As plants require photosynthesis and water is one of its components, they utilize water in the process to make energy and oxygen

Thermosphere

X-ray and UV radiation from the sun is absorbed by the thermosphere

The more radiation that the sun emits the warmer the thermosphere becomes as a result it can expand

Biosphere

The energy within the biosphere is derived from the sun. Everything within the biosphere depends on the sun both plants and animals/other living organisms

The sun can affect ocean currents which can then translate into different weather patterns, ultimately affecting the overall temperature of our climate

Due to the radiation from the sun, it can have a direct effect on the seasons on earth

Atmosphere

The water within the ocean gets continuously heated thus evaporation occurs due to the sun.

Aquatic wildlife thrives from the suns radiation to heat the sea

Without the sun the land, water, and air would be completely frozen. All things living require a steady light source

Ecosphere

Energy from the sun allows for the agriculture on the earth to thrive. Many plants as well as algae utilize photo syntehsis to convert C02 as well as H20 into carbohydrates

Many plants as well as animals use cellular respiration to obtain energy from the sun

The Ecosphere allows for ecosystems within the biosphere to be sustainable without it, they would suffer
