Society 3

"This society is well known for its vast population, which, despite strict population control policies, is still extremely high. A current problem is the rapid aging of the population, with 13.3% of the population now over 60 years old. The 2011 census indicated that there are now around 1.34 billion people in the mainland of this society." There is way too much world population in China and it's a big problem for China to handle and for the rest of the world.

Econamic

"The government called for accelerating the drive for economic reform, but the sessions were widely seen as an effort to maintain moves toward a market economy while retaining political authoritarianism." They couldn't have a good government so they weren't making a lot of money, or as much as they wished to make.

"Throughout many years, leaders of this society severely restricted its citizens' civil, religious, and political rights." This means the government was not being kind or considerate to the citizen's rights and they were resticting them too much.

"The use of torture has been widely documented, and for many years it has executed more people than any other country in the world, carrying out more than three-quarters of the world's executions." The governmet has bee torturing people for punishmet.

This Society seemed to have a good social system

The earliest recorded human settlements in this society were discovered in about 5000 B.C. During this time, a writing system developed, allowing the emerging feudal states of the era to achieve an advanced stage of civilization, rivaling in sophistication any society found at the time in Europe, the Middle East, or the Americas. It was following this initial flourishing of civilization, when leaders laid the foundation of philosophical thought.

Painting, sculpture, and poetry flourished, and woodblock printing, which enabled the mass production of books, made its earliest known appearance.

This society had a strong economy

Government officials announced that this society's economy had grown successfully within a short amount of time. This society is poised to have the world's fourth-largest economy. For many centuries, this society was the most advanced civilization in the world. Many of the world’s greatest inventions came from this society, ultimately helping the economy to florish. The most famous contributions include paper, printing, the compass and gunpowder. It is said that many other things, such as kites, toilet paper and even ice cream originated in this society.

Members of this society have always taken a great deal of pride in their country

In annual sessions of the People's Congress in 1992 and 1993, the government called for accelerating the drive for economic reform, but the sessions were widely This economy was seen as an effort to maintain moves toward a market economy while retaining political authoritarianism. Since 1993, the economy of this society has continued to grow rapidly.

As this society continued to gain world power, citizen rights became limited. Throughout many years, leaders of this society severely restricted its citizens' civil, religious, and political rights. The use of torture has been widely documented, and for many years it has executed more people than any other country in the world, carrying out more than three-quarters of the world's executions.

Society 1

"The minority population of this society hovered around 600,000 in total, less than 1 percent of the entire society’s population. Nonetheless, information shown through media outlets identified this minority as a 'race' and an inferior one at that." They kept killing off Jews and there weren't many left. They referred to them as animals, and didn't treat them as humans. It was a struggle between races, and religion.

"After several years of economic stress and despair..." This shows that right before this time period, there was not a good economic balance. Many Germans hated Jews, so they put them to work without paying them, and then killed them.

"Once firmly in power, the leader of this society began planning for the ending of the struggle between the different races of the society." This means he wanted to kill Jews in the Holocaust because of their religion. Ending the struggle between races means killing the people to make others happy.

"While these individuals still had some prejudices held against them, they were becoming more and more accepted." They were still very prejudice and becoming less, but bad things were still happening.

"During this era, the leaders of this society and their collaborators killed nearly two out of every three 'minorities' as part of the 'Final Solution'." People were being killed and it couldn't be stopped. The government leaders were not helping.

The social class of this society was very good and well achieved for a while

This society became strong and successful in world affairs.

Leader rallies provided fun for all citizens.

Youth groups provided activities and holidays for young people.

This society’s beliefs gave people hope and confidence for a better future.

"Once firmly in power, the leader of this society began planning for the ending of the struggle between the different races of the society. The leader gained support for his ideas through informational text, which filled the popular media with material. Anything opposing the leader was censored and removed from the media."

Political

The leader of this society helped a lot when it came to the political backgrounf of this society.

"He began a huge program of public works including planting forests, and building hospitals and schools. He also built public buildings such as an Olympic Stadium. The construction of new highways created work for 80,000 men."

The introduction of national service meant all young men spent six months in military training and then they were allowed into the army. Within a few years, 1.4 million men were in the army, so they were not counted as unemployed.

The Economics from the start of this society were very good and well managed

Full employment - the idea that everyone should have a job. Within a few years after the new leader took power of this society, there was virtually no unemployment. Everyone who wanted a job had one.

Beauty of Work - the leaders of this society set up the Beauty of Work to help citizens see that work was good, and that everyone who could work should.

"The leaders of this society developed a plan to allow workers to buy a car for a small weekly payment."

"The leaders worked to develop transportation routes in order to improve transport, trade and travel."

Everyone basically had a life and didn't have to worry about economical problems under this leaders control

Society 4

"Between 1991 and 2002 Civil War devastated the country leaving more than 50,000 people dead, much of the country's infrastructure destroyed, and over two million people displaced in neighboring countries. The civil war broke out, mainly due to government corruption and mismanagement of diamond resources and abuse of power by various governments since independence from Britain."

Many people died in this war.

"Despite this natural wealth, over 70% of its people live in poverty."

Poverty means you don't have a house to live in so you have to live on the streets.

The country only relies on 1 thing.

'"The country has relied on mining, especially diamonds, for its economic base."

It wouldn't be that great of an idea only to rely on mining diamonds as all of the money in your economy. If there are a lot of diamonds, they will start becoming worth less and less money.

"Over the next decade much of the formal economy was destroyed in the country’s civil war."

Their economy didn't last.

The government made the civil war happen.

"The civil war broke out, mainly due to government corruption and mismanagement of diamond resources and abuse of power by various governments since independence from Britain."

There social was not good, and they didn't have any pros to it. The only thing they did was produce daimonds

The economy in this society was fairly strong:

"Despite this natural wealth, over 70% of its people live in poverty. Before their discovery in 1930, the former British Colony was just a dumping-ground for freed slaves. The legal and illegal trade in diamonds has shaped the history of the nation and its people."

Every significant twist in the story of this modern day society can be seen through the lens of its diamonds.

At an average price of $270 US dollars per carat , the total value is close to $15 billion US dollars, money which has never benefited the majority of the citizens who live in this society.

The country has relied on mining, especially diamonds, for its economic base; it is among the top 10 diamond producing nations in the world, and mineral exports remain the main foreign currency earner.

Politically they were some-what strong:

In the 1970s and early 1980s, economic growth rate slowed because of a decline in the mining sector and increasing corruption among government officials.

The country has a very high infant mortality and a very low life expectancy. The maternal death rates are also the highest in the world, at 2,000 deaths per 100,000 live births. The country suffers from epidemic outbreaks of diseases including yellow fever, cholera, lassa fever and meningitis. The prevalence of HIV/AIDS in the population is 1.6 percent, higher than the world average of 1 percent.

Cons

"Schools had to be built at an enormous rate, and parents were expected to give their children any opportunity they could. Encyclopedia sales, for example, rose to approximately $300 million a year. These children were a major social force when they were young, and continued to be as they aged, leading the this era and dominating this county’s politics and businesses." The children were a major social force when they were young, and when they were older.

The politics were commanded to do things because of the kids.

Pros
Social

Socially, there were some goods and some bads

With families settling down and making lives for themselves, there was a population explosion.

"There were 24.3 million children between the ages of 5 and 14, and within 10 years, there were 35.5 million. The dramatic increase had ramifications throughout country, some good, some bad. Family life was focused on the children, and giving them the best possibilities. Schools had to be built at an enormous rate, and parents were expected to give their children any opportunity they could. "

Economic

The Economy in this society was actuall fairly decent

The economy was on an upswing and the job market was booming. There were over 10 million new homeowners." Living in the suburbs was attractive to many people for many reasons. You got out of the city, but you were still in close range of the job opportunities, while escaping the crowds. You got an actual house, a yard, and real community sense. The suburbs created a social dynamic unto itself. The families created branches of national institutions like Little League, the Girl Scouts, and the PTA." On the party circuit, there were backyard “neighborly” barbecues. In fact, hotdog production rose from 750 million lbs to 1050 million lbs within 10 years!!

From the end of a large war up until 20 years later, this society became the richest in the world. Many technological advances helped the growth of the economy. Computers, calculators, radios, washing machines, vacuum cleaners, and microwaves became popular, and most were very affordable.

Political

Politically this society was very strong

"With the car so popular, it became a status symbol. Shapes and styles changed regularly, and the companies and advertisers updated the trends constantly, encouraging people to buy new cars in order to look good. As the popularity of suburbs rose, business owners realized what these thriving communities were. Stores and businesses began moving close to where people were living, and found that a location right off a highway made them very accessible." Stores would group together with a huge parking lot, and these became known as shopping centers.
