The topic I have chosen for my Mind Map Project is called Making Strides against Breast Cancer. The tool I used to create the mind map is Mindomo and I have selected this topic because it is something that my family and I have participated in since its first appearance here in the central valley and since then I have had the pleasure of participating in all seven of the Making Strides here in Fresno, California. This is something dear to my heart since I have had family members survive as well as fight with the struggles breast cancer has forced upon us so every year I pledge to help continue this fight with and for my loved ones. Challenges I faced while creating the mind map on Mindomo was the blockage of the use of photos. It is a premium luxury that often would block me out of when I tried to use pictures to enhance my experience as well as expand my viewers’ idea of what Making Strides is. To solve this dilemma I fortunately was able to upload a video that would now better guide my audience to understand what the Making Strides is and means to me. I would encourage my peers to use Mindomo however if they have a better usage of pictures rather than videos this tool may not suit their presentation. This years upcoming Making Strides in the Central Valley will be held Sunday October 9th at 8am for registration, 9am for the opening ceremony of the walk.

Anyone willing to start the fight

Active Participants: -Children -Adults  -Survivors -Fighters -Teams  -Pets

What is Making Strides?

American Cancer Society organization dedicated to continue to fight for the cure for breast cancer along with all types of cancer

Where are the strides held?

Local American Cancer Society Members often organize the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in an area suitable to hold the celebration. Beginning seven years ago the first Central Valley Making Strides was held at Woodward Park in North Fresno. This year they will be making it easier for more students to get actively involved by holding this years Making Strides at the Square at Campus Pointe.
