The Singapore Government facilitates migrant workers' access to recourse and assistance channels by providing 24-hour hotlines. Migrant workers with valid grievances are allowed to find another employer, and employers are prohibited from withholding workers' passports.

MOM also imposes Work Permit conditions on employers to look after the well-being of their foreign workers. Failing which, they can be charged in court under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act (EFMA). Some of these conditions include providing appropriate housing and a safe working environment.
