Boys
Similarities: They had education
Girls
Similarities: They also had education
Differences: Only middle class girls
were educated
Women
Similarities: They did all the house chores,
clean, laundry, looking after kids
Differences: Women in New Brunswick also had to
farm, become teacher for kids, they had to do wood cutting,
they went to church, and make clothes
Men
Similarities: Had jobs outside of houses
Differences: The men had to mine, were allowed to vote,
had to work with government's property, they did ship building, & make more money than the other women, children
P.E.I
Boys
Similarities: They had education
Differences: As young as the age of 7,
boys would have to work, looking for any job they could find.
They would do the wood work, cut down trees, do the farming, etc. Some boys weren't even educated and had to do just work
Girls
Similarities: They had education
Differences: In P.E.I, they had to help the women (their mother) with the chores, had to help clean } housework,
& always remained at their houses
Women
Similarities: They did the chores inside the house, clean, do the laundry, make clothing, etc. (any jobs within the household)
Differences: Instead of the women doing the wood work (In New Brunswick), they had to make candles for lighting
Men
Similarities: They did the jobs hat were outside of the household
Differences: They had to do the wood working, cut trees, & buy more would if needed
First Nations tribes
New Brunswick
Similarities: There were Mi'Kmaqs in both provinces
Differences: In New Brunswick, they also had the Maliseet's tribe, Passamaquoddy tribe, and they had the Irish settlers as they were the first settlers in New Brunswick
P.E.I
Similarities: They also had Mi'kmaq's in their provinces
Differences: The Mi'Kmaq's were the first settlers in P.E.I along with other tribes
Government

Similarities: The conference was distributed by both provinces including Nova Scotia
Differences: The first government was elected which was George Coles in 1851
P.E.I
Similarities: The conference was distributed by both provinces
Differences: P.E.I needed someone with strong leadership so they had an election and Samuel Tilly was elected

Differences: They did used wagons also, for farming

Differences: They used boats also for main transportation and they also invented cars but they were pretty expansive at the time
