My Personal Theoretical Base
Psychodynamic Theory
This theory has contributed and will continue to be a part of my work in the mental health field with children and families. It has proven to be helpful. I learned about this perspective through work experience.
Anti-discriminatory/Multicultural
sensitivity, Empowerment/Advocacy, & Critical Theories
I anticipate using these perspectives when working with Hispanic/Latino and other marginalized clients (populations) in the future. I learned at these at OLLU.
Cognitive Behavioral Theory
This is the primary perspective used in my work in mental health servicing children with emotional/behavioral problems. It is effective and evidenced-based. I will continue to use with future clients.

This perspective was incorporated into services
at my job in the mental health field and has proven to be effective when brief and structured intervention is needed. I learned more about this perspective in my MSW program at OLLU
