World War ll Changes the Economy

Technological advancements

Radio navigation and landing.
Penicillin, synthetic rubber and oil, and Radar.
V-2 (space travel) and jet engines.
Nuclear power and computers.

This led to citizens utilizing the money they saved and could not use at war time towards these entertaining technologies.

A booming and diverse economy

Canada's resources were at t high demand after the war

This led to an increase in revenue and cause the government to spend the money to keep people employed

Government Infrastructure initiatives

The government soon realized it did not have enough buildings for its rapid growing population. So infrastructures like the trans Canada highway, saint Lawrence sea way, were built.

The baby boom

Due to the end of war bringing the ideal situation for child birth. There was a baby boom from the 50's till the 60's.

This led to an increase in the economy

Coming home

After ww2 veterans were well provided with job oppoturnities to get them back into civilization.

At the same time women were taken away from their previous work and told to become house wives. Those without husbands found it very difficult financially
