Taking on the responsibility of a pet bird requires significant research to ensure proper care and understanding of their needs. Parrotlets, known for their small size and vibrant colors, possess a feisty and affectionate personality, often demonstrated through playful biting and shredding.

Now after those long paragraphs, you may think "Wow! I didn't know birds could be so cool! Wait, what do I need to care for a bird?" Luckily for you I have advice: RESEARCH. Research is the most important part of getting a bird or any pet. Say you want say a budgie, don't ask me for info, do your own research! I can't say this enough: DO. YOUR. OWN. RESEARCH! Ok, so with that out of the way, let us begin the video.

Next, budgies also known as a budgerigar, is a small common pet bird. They come a plentiful array of colours skyblue, cobalt, mauve, gray, violet, white and yellow-based (includes light-green, dark-green, gray-green, olive, and yellow). Green (yellow base) is dominant and blue (white base) is recessive. They are often sold at pet stores and other locations that birds are commonly sold at. These small birds are around the size of your hand, or 8 inches (20cm). Due to their small size and relative ease of care they are often pets. However they still require a large amount of care. They are prey animals within their natural habitat due to this they are typically scared of everything, from new toys to even new seeds. This fear often leads to budgies fleeing from anything they haven’t seen before. Regardless, on the DoC Scale, I rate budgies 6.4 pet bird.

Finally, parrotlets the smallest of birds coming in at 5 inches or roughly 12cm. They come in colours of blue, green, yellow, lutino, pale brown, pastel, cinnamon, white and of course albino. Personality wise, are feisty, stubborn and affectionate. They show this affectionate by biting or shredding lots of things like important papers or money, they also tend to make a mess of their food (All birds do this) they might bite you hard enough to draw blood (Budgies and IRN can as well) regardless these guys if cared for properly they will be some of the best pets ever. On the DoC Scale I have placed them as an 8.8 out of 10.

Starting off with my personal favourite bird, the Indian Ringneck. Adults from the tip of their beak to their tail are 16 inches or roughly 40cm. These cuties get their name from the ring around the neck of the males, the ring is black with a secondary colour that ranges from colour to colour. The ring on females is a lighter shade of their primary colour however on green females this ring is nearly invisible. Colours include: white, yellow, bright blue, violet, cinnamon (A mutation) and a silverish gray, there’s also albino. In the wild however most ringnecks are green. Moving on to their personality it is commonly believed ringnecks are hard to train and bitey, however that’s wrong, ringnecks are very intelligent, due to this they often get bored without proper enrichment and interaction. That often leads to ringnecks destroying various objects. In conclusion, on the DoC Scale (Difficulty Of Care Scale), I would rate them an 8.7 out of 10.
