Electromagnetic waves encompass a broad spectrum, including radio waves, microwaves, infrared, visible light, ultraviolet, X-rays, and gamma rays. These waves can travel through a vacuum and all obey the wave equation, traveling at the speed of light in air and vacuum while slowing down in mediums like water or glass.
