Area and Perimeter
![Perimeter](http://www.shmoop.com/images/prealgebra/unit4/pa.4.268.png)
Perimeter
The formula of perimeter would be
length plus width times two
Perimeter is the measurement
of the outside of a shape/building
the amount of space around
a shape/building/object
how much space is around the border
Perimeter is the outline of an object
You can find the perimeter
of a shape on grid paper by
counting the squares on the border
to get the perimeter
You can also can the perimeter of
a shape by using the
formula Lx2+Wx2=Perimeter
You do not
have to put
squared after
the number

Area
The formula of areas would be length
times width equals area
Area is the measurement of the
inside of a shape/building/object
the amount of space inside
an object
how much space is inside the shape
You can find the area of
a shape using grid paper by
counting the squares inside a
shape/building/object
to get the perimeter
You can also get the area
of a shape by using the formula
LxW=area
You have to put
squared after the
number
