Solaris Picks up containers.

Pre-made labels are put on to the container and the physical requisition.
Requisitions are taken to label station to input case number and print cassettes and slides

Solaris input their case number to the hospital physical requisition.

Containers and cassettes are sent to grossing station. Slides are put away and store in a drawer.

Grossing is made and sample is put into cassette, then put into cassette rack.

After grossing is done or rack is full. Rack is put in wax machine to wax and freeze.

Transcription receptionist looks at Solaris case number and hospital requisition number and transcribes grossers recording.

Usually after 24-hours the cassettes are ready to be sectioned. Cassettes are brought to sectionary station (microtome) on big ice blocks to be kept frozen.

Technician looks at cut sheet to see what needs to be sectioned that day; slides are pulled out of drawer and put on station as well.

After cassette is off the microtome the cassettes and the containers are stored for 10 years **CLARIFY whether they are stored together or in different places**. Then slides are sent to dye station.

Slides are removed from dye station and put on trays. Pathologist then views them to give medical interpretation. Slides are put away in storage for 10 years.

The Pathologist inputs interpretation on hospital digital requisition system.
