A boy named Stanley Yelnats is unjustly convicted of theft and sent to Camp Green Lake, a juvenile correctional facility in Texas. This camp requires the boys to dig holes daily under the pretense of building character, though Stanley soon realizes they are searching for something.

Plot

The story of Stanley Yelnats who is wrong accused of robbery and he is sent to a corrective camp to dig misterious holes looking for something that he begin to discover it is related to his family's past.
