How do you know if someone really loves you

Todd and Viola have been through so much together and would do anything to save each other. Even though Todd lived in a time where it was not smart to be friends with women, he grew very fond of a woman named Viola who he found as he was running from his town.

Loving someone means you are constantly wanting to make sure they are okay. It means needing reassurance that they are safe.

Even though they were both at risk of getting killed they wanted to make sure the other was still alive.

Loving someone means you will protect them at all cost.

Todd and Viola would both die to save the other from harm.

Loving someone means you will do anything to see them no matter what it takes.

Both Todd and viola gain the trust of their enemies and help them so they can see each other again

" 'What is her name?' 'No.' Boom 'Tell me her name.' 'No!' Boom 'What is her name, Todd?' 'EFF YOU' " (15)

Todd took several beatings from the mayor just to keep Viola's identity safe even though he almost died because of it.

" I run. ... I ain't never leaving you, Todd Hewitt. My heart aches as I remember saying it. ... (You hold on, Todd. You stay alive). (219)

Even though it was extremely dangerous for viola to leave the hospital, she made a plan to escape to try and find Todd and make sure he was okay.

" 'Where is she?' I spit into the dark, tasting blood, my voice croaking, my Noise rising like a hurricane, high and red and furious. 'WHERE IS SHE?' " (Ness 3)

Even though Todd was very weak and almost dead the first thing he said when he regained consciousness was where is Viola, this shows how much he cares for her and will do anything to make sure she's okay.
