Does family value impact your life?

Responsibility

In the short poem the speakers mother felt ashamed that her daughter was forgetting where she was from and who she was. She felt responsible for what was the outcome for moving to the United States.

Inheritance

The speaker is forgetting the inheritance of being where her birthplace was and her true colors due to moving and changing who she was due to fashion and new environment.

Choice/ Destiny

Cory's destiny was to go to college and play football and go far in life

Responsibility

Troy's responsibility is to take care of his family and provide for his family and responsibility to try and protect his son from racism

Death/Loss

Miguel is in the past life and that's where his family is and he has crossed over into their world.

Choice/Destiny

Miguel wanted to be a musician even though his family banned him from doing it and wanted him to be a shoemaker

Family

Coco is based on Family throughout the whole movie because Miguel is finally finding out what had happened to mama Coco's father and he just loves his family and showed them respect for helping him on his way back home.

Freedom

Moved to the United States from India and is more free here and so will her family and so on.

Responsibility/Family

In the movie Ashima's parents has made her get married and they later on moved to United states and when the family in India would call her to see if she was doing good she would sometimes lies and say yes and say she had a big house because she doesn't want to disappoint her family

Love/Relationship

The love that we receive and do not receive can determine whether we hate love or not.

Hurt

When we get hurt and or disappointed by the ones we love we seek for love from others and sometimes hold on to them because we didnt get that love in the past.

Death/Loss

Maria experienced Loss due to her mother passing away and her mother

Family

In the short story Maria had to take care of her family when her mother passed and didn't really get to be a kid and she had many responsibility

Choice/ Destiny

Maria's choice/ destiny is that her mother had told her she wanted her to go to school and be successful in life, to keep that promise with her mom and to take care of the family and Maria did and she had the choice to break that promise and have fun and be a teenager or keep that promise to her mom and she did exactly that.

Language

Amy refers her mothers English as "Broken English" and uses that to talk to her mother

Inheritance

Amy and her mother are Chinese and Amy was afraid of her mothers broken English and was afraid of others making fun of her and her mother.

Responsibility

As a human your responsibility is to put your needs before anything which is water,food as main needs to survive and then you decide whether you need love, family etc.

Death/Loss

She lost her mother and if she loses her mother's watch it will just be like losing her mother again.

Hurt

She was in a relationship that didnt work out and continues to say its okay to lose stuff in life because that is the process of life itself

Hurt

Junot's mother as well as him, he felt the hurt in which his father put them through. His mother got hurt from knowing and having that sense that the husband was cheating

Responsibility

I believe there were two responsibilities during the short story. The first I believe that Junot's mother wanted to take the responsibility of always calming down Junot when he is about to throw up and I think Junot's responsibility that he took was to keep his father's secret of his mistress to keep his mother from getting hurt.
