SKIMMING
(PRE-READING)

Skimming reading, this type of read
let us identify in a really quickly way
the principal idea.

Is not necessary read all paragraphs
to find important facts about what
we are reading.

Using skimming reading can give us an universal idea of the text, but is not a deep knowledge about it.

To find the givens that we are looking for we can read the main paragraph and the last one.

Those two offer us dates, important information and help us to create that general idea that we need.

So in resume with the skimming reading we create our own idea, thoughts and meaning about what we are reading.

This form to read can improve our speed read and it is benefit to review classes.

Although skimming reading it is a very good way to find key information, only offer us a general idea. So if we want to have a deep knowledge we will have to read in a focused way.

SCANNING
(WHILE-READING)

In here we will work like a machine. When we said that is because, we will read without reading.

With scanning reading we will looking for some specific data. We used this type when we already know the concepts or topic, so for that we don´t need to read all.

To apply this type in an effective way, we need to start from the begin of the text and then going down.

Also if we added skimming to this part we will know faster if the information that we want is on there.

Finally is important to say that scanning reading is better if we already have in mind the question or the topic that we want to find.

CLOSE-READING
(POST-READING)

This final type of reading is one of the most important because in here concentration is the special key that will give us that essential key of comprehension.

We said "close-reading" is because we read with careful and precise, it is valuable to be concentrated.

With the close-reading with enter in contact what all the meanings of the text, with the thoughts of the author.

Finally we create a deep concept and in the moment that we need to proof our knowledge or only have a feedback for fun, our idea will be right.
