he believed in something called satyagraha, which means truth and force the dhoti. the traditional clothing loincloth made. self reliance was key. some of her tactics were, peaceful protests willingly went to prison and even staged hunger.gandhi decided he would walk to the sea to make his own salt. he walked 240 miles with 78 of his followers.he got them to boycott british goods and 50,00 thousand people were sent to prison. by the end of WW2 india gained their independence.they divided into a hindu india and a muslim pakistan .gandhi became a symbol of truth and a non-violence throughout the world. people in the U.S were using gandhi's tactics for civil rights."mankind has to get out of violence only through non-violence. hatred can only be overcome by love".
