History

1910-1919

started in 1911 in Tokio Japan with the name Kwaishinsha Company

1920-1929

In 1926 Kwaishinsha and Jitsuyo Jidohsa merged, resulting in Dat Jidosha Seizo Company, who later (as far back as 1931) joined Tobata Casting. Two years later he would become Nissan.

1930-1939

The company Jidosha-Seizo Kabushiki-Kaisha was renamed Nissan Motor Company on June 1, 1934. Its founder was Yoshisuke Aikawa and his plans were to manufacture between 10,000 and 15,000 units per year. The first car left the production lines of the Yokohama plant in April 1935.

1940-1949

In 1952 the company reached a technical agreement with Austin Motor, UK, and the first Austin left the Japanese factory a year later. In 1966 Nissan merged with Prince Motor, adding several models to its catalog, including the Skyline and Glory.

1970-1999

The energy crises of the 1970s boosted exports of small Japanese cars, recognized worldwide for their low consumption as well as quality. Several years later, on 27 March 1999, Nissan and Renault signed an agreement within a global alliance to benefit both companies.
