He was unsure who his real parents where, he didnt know that Jocasta and Laius where his real parents

Jumped to his own conclusions, didn't ake anyone else's view into concideration.

Unaware of the real situation, believes what he thinks

Truth is too terrible to contemplate

Stubborn, hubris (arrogance to listen) towards everyone else, belives he is the only one to solve the mystery

Genuinely believes that thieves had killed Laius

Believes he is the son of Polybus and Mereope
