Goals

Long-term Challenge: making all financial planners fiduciaries

Ultimate financial planning career goal: have a professional regulatory organization run by financial planner that follow fiduciary standards regardless of licensing - dramatically affect America's ability to save for retirement

Most important current financial issue - to sell your part of the business to partners

Retirment (when to):
- would like to continue teaching as long as physically/mentally capable - 70ish
- First phase most difficult - transition from work office to home office

Retirement (personal goals):
- continue research/writing about Financial Planning and Fiduciary Law (viewed as one of national experts)
- have close relationship with grandchildren - spoil them
- travel/sail around U.S., Mexico, Mississippi River

Similar retirement goals w/ wife:
- live close to family/spend more time with them
- travel

Want to help children get through college without debt and help set them up an enjoyable job

Grandmother bought clothes/not stylish

16 yrs old - 10th grade - Advanced English - McMahon sweater instead of jacket

First job - 10 yrs. old - $20 Sears mower - moved neighborhood lawns

- ability to integrate legal/financial planning backgrounds

#1 regret regards to money:
- not saving earlier than 10 yrs. after completing college
- having student debt

- Navel Jr. Retirement Officer Training/Master Sargent William Pageant (retired Marine) "Don't worry about the Admiral, he puts his pants on one leg at a time like you do" - don't need to be intimidated by/nervous around people
- Father gave exposure to people/money going out to fancy restaurants

Most satisfying time in life:
- Fall 2011 - teaching 1st time
- always wanted to teach
- have great impact on students' lives
- nice to see students change/develop
- likes to be good influence/impact on others
