Flip Teaching in Special Education

In an educational initiative aimed at enhancing differentiation through flip teaching, various stakeholders, including educators, students, and parents, are involved. Flip Teaching for Differentiation

Risks & Issues

Issue log
General Education Teachers plan lessons on eve of class; this makes it hard for the Sped Teacher to plan

Meeting with general education teachers to encourage planning/scheduling; have comittment from at least one teacher to do so

Risk Log
Students being overwhelmed by work

Ensure work presented on special education teacher website is modified as necessary

Technical glitches

For this year - Have backup in 'traditional' methods (e.g., hardbound book/articles/worksheets)

Teachers taking a long time to master technology

Accept old fashioned 'flip' methods such as sending a (hard bound) copy of the text home; increase Tech support

Work Taking longer than planned

As long as there is movement, live with it
