Once a month, Mrs Bixby travels to Baltimore to be with her old women aunt

The Bixby are a married couple that lives in New York.

Mr. Bixby work as a dentist

They are a middle class marriage.

This story is an example of a narrative resource called raising its own trap. It means that someone ends up being defeated because of their own plan.

In the case of Mrs. Bixby, she wanted to prevent her infidelity from being exposed and thought that she could recover her precious coat.

But instead, discovers her husband's infidelity and she cannot confront because she would have to bring out her own.

The lender pay very little compared to the real value

She arrives with her husband and tells him that a loan slip was found

But, he comes back with a stole instead of the coat
