Specific Defense

Immunity

Immunity is the state of being protected against a certain disease.

Passive Immunity

Temporary Immunity passed onto you by other people or animals.

Active Immunity

Immunity gained by natural or artificial introduction to a disease

Lymphocyte

Specialized white blood cell that performs many functions of specific defense.

B Cell

Antibodies

Proteins that act against a specific antigen

T Cell

Suppressor T Cell

Coordinates the actions of other T cells and tells T cells when the infection is gone and when K and B cells can stop being produced.

Killer T Cell

Attack and destroy infected body cells

Helper T Cell

Trigger the production of T and B cells

A type of Phagocyte that makes antigens recognizable to white blood cells.
