What do they want out of today's lesson?Go to the top of the mountain?Ski faster?More control?Use their goals to help shape your lesson plan. But keep it realistic - don't take them to the top their second day out!

Equipment setup

Depending on theirskiing experience

Explain equipment choices

Set up gear as per previous lessons

Ask what they worked on,how it worked, what they liked, etc

Sit-down equipment shouldfit like a ski boot

Tight but not painful

Watch out for circulation and cathiter

Set fit indoors unless you're sure it's right(from previous lessons with us)

It's easier to change up indoors

But watch out about getting them tired too early

On the slopes

Introduction on flat terrain

First runs (before lift)

First time on the Chair lift

After the lesson

Wrap up day with student

Review with other instructor(s)

Write up lesson in student folder
