Use Presence & Communication to connect with others globally. This can be through creation of something that helps others or by supporting others in the community through planning, organizing, fundraising. Students are highly engaged when they can be involved with solving problems in other communities or in their own community. They have a sense of pride, accountability and commitment to succeed. An example would be - have students create a digital placemat that can be printed /laminated and donate it to the local nursing home. This could also be done with Christmas cards. As students advance in their technological skills projects to help others can become more advanced.
