VALUE
the lightness or darkness of a color, ranging from the lightest shade (white) to the darkest shade (black)
TEXTURE
How something feels when touched, or the illusion of texture created with line and pattern
bumpy. smooth, spotty
COLOR
Created when light reflects off of an object or scene
all colors on the color wheel
SHAPE
A flat area of enclosed space
squares, circles, triangles etc
FORM
Can refer to three-dimensionality, or the physical nature of a work of art
SPACE
The areas around, between, and within objects
also known as negatives and positives, the empty areas
LINE
A mark made on a surface that can indicate the edge of a shape or form

lines that run from the left to right

lines that start with a center point and gradually move away
