Some children feel uncomfortable doing school work in class because of the environment so homework gives those children a chance to work in a comfortable and familiar environment and to do school work comfortably.
Homework enhances the child's ability and capacity to excel.
Homework increases presentation and tidiness for the children so when they are older, if they do a work review they would most likely succeed in what they want to be.
This helps because if they missed a lesson but they get homework, they get to catch up a bit so they don't fall back.
Homework can cause children stress
A heavy workload can cause a child to become stressed due to emotions such as frustration
Spanish law dictates that homework be banned due to the stress caused by it.
An excessive workload disrupts sleep.
If children are given homework it can disrupt their daily routine as, for example, if they have sporting commitments after school they have significantly less time to do the prep which can encourage them to produce work of low standards or cause them to loose sleep as they are trying to complete the homework they've missed due to reason outside their control.
Empirical studies have linked excessive homework with sleep disruption. This can cause a decline in physical health.
Some children are unable to complete their homework.
If children are unable to complete there homework they will face repercussions in spite of if the situation is within their control.
Children with various commitments often fall back in their education as the homework which they were unable to complete proved fundamental which often leads to poor test results.
